Why You Wonโ€™t Want to Miss This Yearโ€™s Home Tour

The heart of this event lies in the beautiful historic homes that make Vankleek Hill so special. From heritage beauties to re-invented village homes, and this year — an inspiring log home in the countryside, the tour offers a unique peek inside six beautifully restored and decorated homes that each have their own story to tell.

Picture yourself stepping through the doors of these historical gems, where every room is dressed to impress with twinkling lights, fragrant greenery, and creative touches that will make you feel like youโ€™re stepping into a holiday movie! If youโ€™re curious about local history, youโ€™ll love hearing the personal connections that people have with the homes on the tour.

This Yearโ€™s Highlights and Attractions

The Vankleek Hill Christmas Home Tour has partnered with some incredible not-for-profit organizations, which will each receive a share of the proceeds from the tour. Among them are Arbor Gallery, celebrating 30 years of supporting local arts, and Eco East, working hard to promote sustainability in our region. Also on the recipient list are: the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society, Meals on Wheels, the Vankleek Hill Horticultural Society, the Higginson Tower and the Vankleek Hill and District Nature Society.

In between house tours, enjoy a range of festive activities throughout town, whether itโ€™s a complimentary hot drink at Home Hardware, or finding some tasty treats at the Vankleek Hill Farmersโ€™ Market or the Christmas Craft Sale — both at ร‰cole St-Grรฉgoire. Watch for bake sales at the churches and a sale of gently-used Christmas items at ร‰glise St-Grรฉgoire at 137 Higginson Street.

The Vankleek Hill Quilters Guild will be hosting a quilt exhibit inside Knox Presbyterian Church. Admission is free to the quilt exhibit.

The Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market will be in full swing at 50 Home Avenue, with a Christmas theme and inside Ecole St-Gregoire at the same address, a huge Christmas Craft Fair is happening in the gymnasium (50 vendors).

Each of the six homes will feature a select specialty vendor. Visit with: Dunrobin Distilleries, The Rustic Pantry, Makrah Made, It’s Pouring, Curated Finds for You, Les Matantes, and Les Jardins de Gabrielle. There will be treats and samples along the way and you are sure to find some tempting decor items to take home with you. Stop in to visit with Gibbs Honey in front of 76 Main Street and meet the folks from Glengarry Evergreen in front of Scotiabank at 55 Main Street.

Take home a photo souvenir of the event by stopping in during the afternoon at the Proudfoot Financial location at 92 Main Street East where Kayla and Yellow Rose Photograph will capture you and your friends having a wonderful day in Vankleek Hill.

You can also indulge in a delicious meal at one of the local churches (St John’s Anglican Church, Trinity United Church, Knox Presbyterian Church) or restaurants. Eglise Saint-Gregoire is hosting events inside the church and presenting a meal at the Club d’Age D’Or Hall (Golden Age Hall) at 122 Bond Street.

For those seeking a little extra Christmas spirit, visit Beauโ€™s Brewery or Dunrobin Distilleries on Terry Fox Drive.

Thereโ€™s even a quilt raffle you can enter for a chance to win a stunning hand-crafted batik king-size masterpiece at 76 Main Street East in Vankleek Hill!

Shuttle Buses, Shopping, and More

Donโ€™t worry about getting around โ€” shuttle buses will be running all day to whisk you from home to home, with stops at all the key spots in town. Organizers thank Martel & Fils and the Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association for shuttle bus sponsorship. Youโ€™ll also want to leave time to explore the local shops and vendor markets, where you can pick up unique gifts and decorations for your own holiday celebrations.

Tickets are available for purchase online, and trust us โ€” you donโ€™t want to miss out on this magical event!

The event, previously organized by The Review, is organized by Louise Sproule/996963 Ontario Inc with support from The Review. This year marks the first Christmas Home Tour since 2019.
